Feb 06 : When it comes to pool cloth … Brian’s in the driving seat

That he believes in the product is a bit of an understatement by Irish leisure industry entrepreneur Brian McCluskey.

Not only has he covered the walls of his new showroom in County Tipperary with pool cloth, he has now bought a new car with the brand’s identity as part of its registration number.

Brian launched Q Leisure in 1995 and last year splashed out two million euros on new premises in Clonmel. Keen to give the showroom a distinctive edge, he decorated 1000 sq ft of wall space in ArtScape™, the digitally-printed pool table cloth made by Milliken® Woollen Speciality Products.

And to complete his faith in the product, the number plate of Brian’s new Range Rover finishes in the numbers 6811 – which is perhaps the best-known snooker and pool cloth brand in the world.

Q Leisure supplies touch screen video games, gaming machines, coin-operated and free-play pool tables to independent operators, arcade owners and homeowners.

The company hopes to sell 100 snooker tables and over 1000 pool tables this year, English pool on 7’ tables being the most popular game in Ireland.
