Printing images onto pool table cloth has gone from being an untried idea to a powerful marketing tool in the past 12 months, prompting cloth manufacturer Milliken® to bring its highly-rated ArtScape concept to ATEI in January.

The UK company is taking stand 1638 to exhibit its latest Décor design range, which has been created to offer customers a choice of 96 digitally-printed designs.

Décor allows pubs, bars, clubs or homeowners the flexibility to continue a decorative theme through to their pool tables. And, unlike the silk-screen process, ArtScape is produced using high-resolution printing to create images in pin-sharp quality.

Milliken also views ArtScape as a key branding vehicle for brands sold through licensed premises or entertainment centres. The company is talking to several leading brand owners in search of stylish imagery to endorse point-of-sale and other marketing activity.

With the brand already featuring in clubs and pubs throughout the UK and Ireland, further afield it has added potential in the home. In the US and Australia, for example, thousands of pool tables are sold each year for home use and Milliken has signed agreements with some of the world’s leading distributors.

ArtScape allows pool fans to have any design they choose on their tables at home, where it is regarded as part fashion accessory, part interior design feature. Images last the life of the cloth and will not affect the quality of play, report the manufacturers.

ArtScape, together with other market-leading snooker and pool cloth brands, are produced in the UK by Milliken Woollen Speciality Products, a subsidiary of Milliken & Company, the US textile company.
